The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Garki Branch, Abuja, has taken a significant step towards advancing the interests of the Branch and improving access to justice for indigent persons by collaborating with the Police Service Commission (PSC).

On Friday, April 12th, the Chairman of the NBA Garki Branch, Obioma Ezenwobodo Esq., along with other members of the Executive, paid a courtesy visit to the PSC at its Corporate Headquarters in Jabi, Abuja.

The Branch delegation was warmly received by the Honorable Chairman of the Commission, Mr. Solomon Arase (Rtd IGP), who engaged in productive discussions with the visiting team. During the meeting, both parties addressed issues of common interest and reached a mutual understanding on how to work together to achieve their shared goals.

Chairman Ezenwobodo seized the opportunity to extend an invitation to the PSC Chairman and members of the Commission to attend the upcoming Law Week of the NBA Garki Branch, scheduled to take place from April 26th to April 30th, 2024. The Law Week promises to be a platform for further engagement and collaboration between the NBA and the PSC, as well as other stakeholders in the justice sector.

As a token of appreciation and to showcase the Branch’s commitment to legal scholarship, the NBA Garki Branch presented its Maiden Journal to the Chairman of the Police Service Commission. The journal is expected to serve as a valuable resource for legal practitioners, scholars, and policymakers, providing insights into contemporary legal issues and best practices.

The partnership between the NBA Garki Branch and the Police Service Commission is a testament to the Branch’s dedication to promoting the rule of law, enhancing access to justice, and fostering a more effective and accountable justice system. By working hand in hand with the PSC, the NBA Garki Branch aims to contribute to the development of a more responsive and efficient police force that upholds the rights of all citizens, especially the underprivileged.

As the collaboration between the NBA Garki Branch and the Police Service Commission unfolds, it is expected to yield positive outcomes in terms of improved justice delivery, increased public confidence in the justice system, and a more conducive environment for legal practitioners to discharge their duties effectively.
