The Delta State Ministry of Justice has outlined new requirements for legal practitioners seeking Fiat authority to prosecute criminal matters.

Applications must now include a letter addressed to the Attorney General, certified copies of court documents, tax clearance records, current NBA dues payments, a case background brief, and evidence of payment of a N50,000 non-refundable processing fee.
The Attorney General noted that these measures will ensure only qualified legal professionals with the proper documentation will be granted Fiat approval going forward.
Lawyers seeking the authority to independently prosecute criminal cases in Delta State magistrate, high, and appellate courts must adhere to these revised guidelines.
Applications lacking any required items will be rejected.
