During a meeting with the Nigerian Bar Association’s Asaba Branch this week, senior advocate Afam Osigwe conveyed an unwavering pledge regarding the recently instituted Remuneration Order 2023.

As chairman of the NBA’s Remuneration Committee, Osigwe assured assembled lawyers that he and committee members will proactively engage with legal professionals nationwide to ensure comprehension of the order and vigorously pursue its implementation.

“We are fully committed to engaging closely with lawyers across Nigeria to not only foster a detailed understanding of the remuneration order, but to orchestrate its robust and equitable implementation,” Osigwe declared.

“This pledge embodies our steadfast dedication to championing transparency and fairness within legal compensation structures.”

The Remuneration Order 2023 represents a milestone framework aimed at standardizing the payments received by lawyers for professional services rendered.

Osigwe stressed that vigorous implementation will be key to engendering consistent, just compensation within the legal field.

By conveying an impassioned pledge in Asaba this week, the senior advocate underscored his resolve to utilize his leadership position to safeguard fair remuneration for Nigeria’s lawyers.

With Osigwe at the helm, the NBA’s Remuneration Committee appears posed to usher in a new era of ethical, equitable payment standards for legal practitioners across the country.
