A special court session was held yesterday at the High Court of Edo State to honor the life and legacy of the late Dr Kolawole Shola Okeaya-Inneh SAN.

The ceremony, hosted in the ceremonial court, saw a distinguished gathering of legal professionals pay tribute to the eminent lawyer. Among those present was the respected Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Afam Osigwe.

Chief Judge, Hon. Justice D.I Okungbowa presided over the event, with an assembly of judges, Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) officials – including President YC Maikyau SAN – past NBA President Augustine Alegeh SAN, and over a dozen SANs.

Standing with the Okeaya-Inneh family, the lawyers celebrated the rich life of ‘KSO’ as he was fondly called. Glowing tributes flowed as attendees highlighted his dedication to the legal profession for over four decades and passion for mentoring young lawyers.

Attorney-General of Edo State, Oluwole Osaze Uzzi and children of the deceased including Justice Joy Oghogho Okeaya-Inneh and Ade Okeaya-Inneh SAN were also present.

Afam Osigwe SAN’s attendance formally represented the show of solidarity by the senior lawyers in honouring their departed colleague.

The ceremony reminded the legal community of the strong bonds amongst its members and was a fitting memorial for the impactful life of Dr Kolawole Okeaya-Inneh SAN who passed last November.
