A former Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) President, Olumide Akpata, has expressed profound grief over the demise of former Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu SAN.

In a tribute personally signed by him, Akpata described the late Akeredolu as a “distinguished predecessor, giant of the legal profession and unwavering beacon of justice.”

He noted that despite occupying the governor’s office, Akeredolu remained dedicated to transforming the justice system and embodied the highest ethics and values of the Bar.

While condoling with the deceased’s family and Ondo citizens, Akpata recalled Akeredolu living a life of noble purpose that unified people across political and sectional lines.

Akpata added that the outpouring of tributes from Nigerians demonstrated Akeredolu’s outstanding legacy as a courageous advocate, selfless leader and genuine human being.

Akpata however noted that though his death leaves an unfillable void in the legal community, Akeredolu’s exemplary life will keep inspiring many.
