The Deputy Legal Adviser of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Okechukwu Osuoha, has expressed dissatisfaction with recent Appeal Court judgments overturning PDP victories in Zamfara, Plateau and Nasarawa states.

He alleged that the judgments were based on “technicalities” rather than justice.
In an interview with PUNCH, Osuoha accused the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) of influencing the courts and “buying judgments” to undermine opposition parties. He said the PDP and Nigerians are “not comfortable with judgments from the courts” which he claimed have been compromised.
“It is now apparent that the APC influenced some of these judgments; everybody’s seeing it now that our court is been undermined. And it’s been compromised,” Osuoha said.
He urged the Supreme Court to “write most of these wrongs” and give judgments based on justice rather than technicalities.
Osuoha delivered a scathing verdict on the Buhari administration, rating it as “a total failure.” He claimed living standards were better under the PDP, citing disparities in the exchange rate and cost of living between the two administrations.
The PDP chieftain advised Nigerians not to lose hope and to pray for deliverance from “bad people, the APC that wants to destroy Nigeria.” He expressed confidence the country would “survive the APC.”
The allegations of judicial influence are the latest controversy for the APC government as Nigeria approaches general elections in 2023. Osuoha and the PDP will be hoping the Supreme Court overturns the Appeal Court verdicts and restores their governorship victories.
