Enugu, Nigeria – The community of Enugu-Na-Uwani in Enugu State is mourning the loss of 82-year-old Nweke Udemezue, a beloved family man and respected community leader who passed away unexpectedly on Saturday.

Udemezue was known for his wisdom, honesty and dedication to public service. He leaves behind his wife, seven children, 19 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and many other relatives.
The family announced that Udemezue died peacefully at home Saturday evening. They thanked the public for their condolences and prayers, asking that people pray for the repose of his soul.
Funeral arrangements are pending. Udemezue’s family called him a “good man” and said his legacy of integrity and care for others will live on in the community.
