Under the provisions of the Evidence (Amendment) Act 2023, electronic oath taking is now admissible in judicial proceedings. This means that affidavits and other documents requiring oaths can be sworn electronically, leading to time savings and streamlined courtroom proceedings.

Moreover, the Act permits affidavits to be electronically sworn through audio-visual methods, restricted to authorized individuals. Copies of these electronically sworn affidavits must be filed with the court’s registry.
