*Says “The Land Was Awarded To Them.”

The Umuawo Community, Nando in Anambra East Local Government Area has notified the public that the entire pieces of land in Odo-Ubili as awarded by Anambra State Boundary Community belongs to them.

In a statement made available to TheNigeriaLawyer signed by its Solicitor, Tony Anazor, the Community said, “CAVEAT EMPTOR

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN to the general public that the entire pieces or parcels of lands in Odo-Ubili as awarded by the Anambra State Boundary Committee to Umuawo Community, Ikenga, Nando in Anambra-East LGA of Anambra State as captured in the Government’s Plan No Misc/AS/30 dated 14/6/1996, drawn pursuant to the Boundary Committee’s decision titled: “Settlement of Boundary Dispute Between Abube-Agu and Umuawo Communities at Nando in Anambra East Local Government Area”, which Settlement, encompassing the survey plan was caused to be published at page 101, No 11, Vol 9, 2nd December, 1999 of Anambra State Gazette, are common property of Umuawo Community, Ikenga, Nando.

Hence, Umuawo Community are deemed to be holders of Customary Rights of Occupancy thereof.”

Thus, they advised that anyone who deals with another person in respect of the land without the consent of the community does so at his own risk.

“Anybody dealing with any person or group of persons with respect to the said lands as clearly delineated in the above-quoted survey plan without the knowledge/written consent of the above-stated Umuawo Community does so at his or her own risk.

“Consequently, trespassers are warned!” Anazor said
