The leadership of the Eastern Bar Forum has called on the Police and other security agencies to expedite action in the investigations over the murder of N.H. Nwankwo Esq a former Chairman of Nigerian Bar Association, Owerri Branch.
In a statement issued by the Governor of the Forum, S. LongWilliams Esq, he stated that the Forum has been thrown into deep mourning over this cowardly and dastardly act.
It is so sad, unfortunate, and regrettable that our colleague will be callously, brutally, and cold-bloodedly murdered in the hollow chambers of his office, a place where he ekes out a living for his family. This is most condemnable and unacceptable. This murder will never go unpunished or unresolved. This is like a thousand lives taken in a pogrom.
The Eastern Bar Forum commiserated with his family and the entire leadership and membership of Owerri Branch including the Bar in Imo State generally over this incident.
He went further to state that we must all stand strong, firm, and resolute in getting and ensuring that we see the end of this shameless act. We cannot stagger, waiver, become weak and indifferent in the effort to get the killers of N.H. Nwankwo Esq and serve them the justice they deserve as a deterrent to others.
