The Institute of Chartered Mediators and Conciliators (ICMC) has mourned the demise of late Honourable Justice Jude Okeke who until his death was its fellow.

ICMC, in a statement made available to TheNigeriaLawyer (TNL), described the deceased as one of the finest judicial officers in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja adding that the deceased was respected by the Bar who distinguished him amongst his learned brothers
“While he lived, His Lordship was one of the finest Judicial Officers in the FCT and his knowledge of the law and respect for the Bar distinguished him amongst his Learned Brothers.
“As a judex in the family court, he utilized the principles of marital mediation in dealing with petitions before him.” ICMC said
ICMC is a professional body of practitioners in Nigeria that regulates and sets standards for the practice of Mediation and Conciliation and encourages organizations and institutions to adopt Mediation and Conciliation as the primary mechanisms for addressing disputes. ICMC also trains and certifies professional Mediators and Conciliators, and inducts them into the Institute as Associate Members (AICMC), Members (MICMC) and Fellows (FICMC
The professional body lamented that it has lost its “worthy ambassador” but prayed for God to bless the deceased for his good deeds
“Today, Your Lordship has gone the way of all matters and has left us with memories of the marks he left in the sands of time.
“As ICMC, we have lost a worthy Ambassador, we have lost a dear Fellow and we have lost a gem.
“May the soul of Hon. Justice Jude Okeke, FICMC Rest In Peace and may God forgive his sins and reward his good deeds.”
