A Life Bencher and first female General Secretary of the Nigerian Bar Association, Mrs. Hairat Ade-Balogun, has congratulated Mrs. Joyce Oduah, FICMC on her recent victory at the just-concluded NBA National Elections.

This is contained in a letter written to the General Secretary elect dated 3rd day of August, 2020 which was made available to TheNigeriaLawyer, titled “CONGRATULATORY MESSAGE”.

“It gives me great pleasure to congratulate you on your election as the General Secretary of the Nigerian Bar Association.” She said.

“I am doubly delighted that after thirty-nine years (39 years) since I was the pioneer female General Secretary another woman lawyer has been found worthy and chosen to be honorable Scribe of our great Association.”

In addition, she expressed delight that a non SAN is elected to lead the Bar.

“It is also historic that after a total of 20 elections a non – SAN has been elected President.” She said.

Finally, she wished Mrs. Joyce well in her new position.
