The Lawyers Network Against Corruption (LAWNAC) has thrown its weight behind Mr. Olumide Akpata as President in the upcoming 2020 NBA elections.

In a statement released on the 23rd June, 2020, and issued by Mr. Chika Igwe on behalf of LAWNAC, the ethical watchdog stated that

“After a thorough assessment of the candidates vying for the office of NBA President, Mr. Akpata recorded the highest scores for transparency, independence, accountability, high ethical standards and thought leadership.”

“Mr. Olumide Akpata has over the years earned a reputation for a high standard of ethical practice and conduct. He has demonstrated the capacity for independent-mindedness and is not beholden to any group or cabal within the profession or in society in general. Without any unnecessary baggage, Mr. Akpata will clearly act in the welfare and interest of the Bar and the rule of law.”

“If the Bar is to make meaningful change, the next crop of Leaders must be baggage-free and then only can we have the moral justification to speak truth to power”

LAWNAC is a voluntary association of Anti-Corruption Lawyers from all over the Country.
