African union set aside 16th June of every year as the international day for African Child, it is a day to celebrate and honour those who gave their lives while protesting in the streets of Soweto, South Africa and other African countries against poor quality of their education.

I celebrate with Africa children all over the world as I mark its anniversary and to remind our Africa leaders that the reasons for the demonstration that took the lives of our children many years ago, in the hands of the white rulers is still very visible today if not worst.

No good schools,no good roads, no good hospitals to treat the African child among many others. When will this ugly situation change? When will Africa leaders take the welfare of Africa children serious?

It is my humble submission that African child should be treasured and treated with dignity. The African child should enjoy equal opportunity and rights like their counterpart in other clime. Our leaders must create an enabling environment for our children and improve the quality of their education and lives.

We can do better.
