No doubt our profession is passing through difficult moments that need all hands on deck. We must not shy away from confronting this menace. We either fight it as an association or it will kill us all.

The rate at which our colleagues especially junior colleagues have been assaulted, detained and molested is unacceptable. We must put an end to it and restore the image of our noble profession.

Finally, I urge you, people, to discuss the welfare of lawyers because any association without a strong welfare scheme leaves its members in jeopardy.

I will offer myself to serve the NBA, as a welfare secretary in the forthcoming election when ban is lifted.
