The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) – Section on Legal Practice has elected a new Executive Council, that will pilot its affair for the next two years.

The New Chairman is Oluseun Abimbola (former Attorney-General of Oyo State), while the Vice-chairman is Chief Ferdinand Orbih SAN, Treasure- Folashade Alli and Secretary-General – Tonye Krukrubo.

The election was conducted at the Annual General Meeting of the NBA-Section on Legal Practice at the Harbour Point Venue Yesterday, 28th of August, 2019. In response to the appointment, Oluseun Abimbola Esq. said:

“Distinguished colleagues, I appreciate you for your confidence in nominating us to lead the affairs of the section for the next 2 years.”

TheNigeriaLawyer (TNL) recalls that At the Annual General Conference of the Nigerian Bar Association held in Enugu in 2003, two sections of the Association were created, pursuant to a resolution of that Conference which are: Section on Legal Practice (SLP) and Section on Business laws (SBL).

The Council of each of these sections was appointed at the National Executive Committee meeting held in Ilorin, Kwara State in July 2004.

In November 2017 Mrs. Mia Essien, SAN FCI.arb was elected the Chairman of the SLP with Seun Abimbola as the Vice.

In accordance with Article 2 of the Section Bye-laws, any member of the Nigerian Bar Association shall be eligible for membership of either of the two sections, upon payment of the section dues or the current year to the Section Treasurer.

He or she shall then be enrolled as a member of the section.
