It was an affirmation of the vibrance and proactiveness of the Nigerian Bar Association ,Benin Branch Exco ,led by the ebullient and Digital NBA Benin Branch Chairman, Prince Collins Benson Ogiegbaen, A.I.C.M.C.,when Members of the Branch in the May ,2019 Meeting ,aptly adopted in a seemly unanimous manner , the sobriquet,” The Lion Bar “.

The former Publicity Secretary of the Branch ,Usunobun Evbayiro ,put the issue in its pedestal ,when he stated that the Benin Bar has been a trailblazer and pathfinder in the Country, speaking truth to Power and advocating for the Bar as an Institution nationwide, just as the Benin Bar, has assumed the voice of the voiceless on critical issues of State .

He then moved a Motion which was seconded by O.A. Lawani and passed with seemly unanimity.

By this development, the NBA Benin Branch officially bears the toga of the “Lion Bar”.
