This was contained in a Petition captioned Security Alarm In Re: Chronicles of Human Right Abuses in the Form of Threat with Loaded Firearm, Threat to Life, Professional Impunity, Threatening Violence with Service Pistol, indiscriminate And Unlawful Use of Service Pistol In Utter Defiance of Tenet of Democracy By One Sergeant Talabi Aladejana attached to Okpoko Police Divisional Headquarters, dated the 19th day of October, 2018, received same date by the State Police Command and copied the Inspector General of Police. The lawyer in a 13 paragraph petition said the genesis of the police sergeant invasion of his chambers arose from the civil action he instituted against the police sergeant in his personal capacity for defamation. He said the police sergeant who is also the armourer of Okpoko Divisional Headquarters called him on phone on the 15th day of October 2018, to keep an appointment with him and surprisingly he invaded his chambers on the late hours of 18th day of October, 2018, in a commando style, disrupted clients’ interview and pointed a loaded service pistol at him, threatening to shoot him in the presence of his clients. The lawyer alleged that the police sergeant further threatened to shoot him in the event of his refusal to withdraw the suit be maintained against him in his personal capacity and include the Inspector General of Police and the Commissioner of Police Anambra State respectively as a party. Abuchi Goshen Ogbachalu Esq. said it is not the first time the sergeant will cock loaded service pistol and threatened to shoot innocent citizens as examples are galored of Sgt. Talabi Aladejana’s callous and inhuman act. He alleged that CSP Ibrahim Jaura (Divisional Police Officer Okpoko) is incompetent and lacks supervision over his subordinates as a lot of professional misconduct has trailed Okpoko Police Divisional Headquarters since he assumed duty. The Lawyer, however, prayed the Commissioner of Police Anambra State to transfer his case to another department as he is not comfortable with the way and manner the office of the PPRO/APPCAP conducted the interview the parties had on Tuesday the 23rd day of October 2018.]]>
