“400 Armed Bandits Targeted” — NAF Airstrikes Prevent Coordinated Attacks On Zamfara Farming Communities

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) says its airstrikes under Operation Fasan Yamma have targeted a gathering of about 400 armed bandits who were allegedly planning coordinated attacks on farming communities in Zamfara State.

NAF Spokesman, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, in a statement on Sunday, said the strike, carried out on August 10, 2025, alongside a ground assault in Makakkari Forest, neutralised scores of terrorists.

He explained that Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) operations had tracked the movement of the armed group, confirming their plans to invade a farming settlement and launch a deadly assault before they were struck.

Ejodame noted that several notorious kingpins and many of their fighters were killed in the operation, which combined precision airstrikes with coordinated land offensives.

He added that the synergy between air and ground components of Operation Fasan Yamma was critical to the success of the mission.
