The National Industrial Court sitting in Abuja has restrained the Nasarawa State chapter of the Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN) from embarking on its proposed industrial action.

The court issued the interim injunction on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, following an ex parte application filed by the Nasarawa State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Isaac Danladi.
The court ordered the union and its members not to commence the proposed strike pending the hearing and determination of the substantive motion on notice.
The application followed a seven-day ultimatum issued by JUSUN to the Nasarawa State Government and the state Judicial Service Commission over unresolved demands affecting judiciary workers.
The union had threatened to shut down courts across the state from September 16 if the government failed to address its demands before the expiration of the ultimatum.
JUSUN is demanding the immediate implementation of the 40 per cent Peculiar Allowance approved by the National Salaries, Incomes and Wages Commission.
The union is also seeking full financial autonomy for the Nasarawa State judiciary, implementation of a 58.1 per cent salary increase, pending staff conversions and payment of outstanding promotion allowances.
The state chapter had earlier issued a 21-day notice on August 5 before giving the government another seven days to resolve the dispute.
The union maintained that its demands had remained unresolved despite previous engagements with the relevant state authorities.
Following the interim order, JUSUN is expected to suspend its proposed industrial action until the court considers the motion on notice and issues further directives.
The interim injunction does not determine the substantive dispute between the parties but is intended to preserve the existing situation pending the hearing of the application before the court.
