The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Convention Central Coordination Committee, Alhaji Aminu Masari, has said that members publicly complaining about alleged denial of access to the party’s nomination forms ahead of Saturday’s national convention intended to destabilize the ruling party.

The former Zamfara State Governor made this known in Abuja on Thursday during the APC World Media Briefing, ahead of the party’s 8th National Convention scheduled to take place from Friday, March 27 to Saturday, March 28, 2026.

The press briefing was also attended by the Minister of Arts, Culture, Tourism, and Creative Economy, Hannatu Musawa; Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Kyamo; Pius Ayim, Vice Chairman of the Central Committee; Special Adviser to the President on Media and Public Communication, Chief Sunday Dare; Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Mr. Bayo Onanuga; and other top party dignitaries.

“APC is a responsible Nigerian party. In line with federal character, all offices are zoned,” he explained when asked about some aspirants for positions who were said to have been denied access to forms.

“People who came to buy forms for positions zoned to their zones were sold forms. But when they say zoning is in Zone A and you are in Zone B, yet you try to buy a form in Zone A, we suspect you are only there to create confusion.

“Who would want confusion? Let us understand the way our country is. The structures of the party are based on zoning, and the working committee members are also distributed according to zones.

“So, if you are contesting a position that has not been zoned to your zone, how can you claim you have been treated democratically? We suspect these kinds of people may be agents interested in destabilizing our party. We will not agree to that, and I don’t think any responsible Nigerian will.

“So, we don’t have a problem with that. Regarding this issue, we are not aware that anybody has gone to court. We have not been served, and I am sure we are a responsible party. If we are served, we will take notice of it.”
