Chairman Nigerian Bar Association Welfare Committee, Yakubu.C. Maikyau, SAN, has said that Girl Child is very unique. 

The Learned Silk, made this remark while commemorating the International Day of the Girl Child.

He said: “Today we have a world where the Girl Child wears blue overall, puts on her boots, and heads for the workshop. 

“Another day, Jane is in court in Abuja cross-examining a witness.  Sometimes, it is Lola in a salon or Nafisat on call at a hospital in kebbi.

“Whilst things are yet uneven,  there are limitless opportunities to what a Girl Child can do or achieve. Whether a Nurse or a Teacher, Every girl is unique, and special creation of God.

Today is for the Girl Child and we celebrate every Girl Child everywhere in the world. 

“We hope for a tomorrow that will be better than today. Where the voice of the Girl Child is not silenced but heard and amplified! 

“Happy International Day of the Girl Child”.
