The Chairman of the NBA National Welfare Committee, Mr. Y. C. Maikyau, SAN, on the 15th day of May, 2022 paid a courtesy visit to Hon. Justice Samson Odemwingie Uwaifo, JSC (Rtd) at his Benin residence.

During the visit, the retired Supreme Court Justice was visibly surprised and elated on sighting Maikyau and his entourage.
The retired jurist elatedly remarked;
“I thought you were joking yesterday when you said you will come and see me. I will always remember this day . Thank you for honouring me, God will honour and bless you.”
Responding to His Lordship’s remark, Y.C. Maikyau quipped thus: “Mi Lord, we have come to show you that the seeds you’ve sown in our lives have grown . By His grace, I am Y.C. Maikyau, SAN. I have been reading you for over two decades and I couldn’t have been joking about this visit when I have the opportunity to meet you directly.”
Y.C. continued, “I was taught the value of honour and it is a great pleasure for me to have the opportunity to come here today. We thank you for opening your arms to us and for granting us the permission to come visit you. I came to tap from your wisdom bank and also to seek your blessings.”
The retired Justice rendered a heartwarming prayer in response and further remarked saying, “There is nothing that is impossible through the Almighty. Anytime you’re in Benin, you have my permission to come to my house.”
It was a very memorable and deeply enriching visit for both parties. Mr. Y.C. Looks forward to visiting the learned sage again in the near future.
