*Says Mohammed Was Able To Engender His Father’s Continuity

Chairman, NBA Welfare Committee, Y.C. Maikyau, SAN, FCIArb., has commiserated with the family of late Mohammed Fawehinmi, son of late Gani Fawehinmi, the renowned human rights lawyer.

Mohammed Fawehinmi, died on Wednesday at the age of 55. He was said to have been battling an undisclosed ailment.

Maikyau, SAN, in his statement on Friday said; “I join Nigerians across the nation to commiserate with the Fawehinmi family on the shocking demise of Mohammed Fawehinmi, ESQ.

“The late Mohammed represented a sense of continuity of the life and convictions of his late father, Chief Gani Fawehinmi, SAN.

“Despite his physical challenges, he was able to engender his father’s continuity, not only by the striking resemblance he had of his father, but also the classic Gani’s courage which he demonstrated in his remarkable life.

“As Chairman of the Board of the Nigerian Weekly Law Report, he was a key part of the enormous successes of the most resourceful Law Report in Nigeria, with over 35 years of unbroken publication.

“This contribution alone positively impacted the development of law and jurisprudence in Nigeria and beyond.

“I pray that God Almighty watches over the family and grant them the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

“May the late Mohammed Fawehinmi rest in peace. Amen!”
