Some who didn’t see the complete video on the altercation between Sen. Ngige and Falake, may wonder why Ngige had to berate Falake in such a demeaning manner.
The House of Representatives Adhoc Committee hearing on 22nd day of July, 2020 during the investigation into an alleged breach of a presidential directive by Minister of Labour & Employment, Senator Chris Ngige witnessed verbal attacks from the Minister to Hon. Falake.
Meanwhile, Faleke had previously asked Ngige several questions yet to be responded to.
“Finally Honourable Minster, as a politician, we all labour for this party, honorable party and apologies to my colleagues who are not from APC.
“We all laboured and you alluded to it that some of the Management Staff are also politicians.
“Will you say it is right Honourable Minister, to have also castigated them in the media damaging their reputation rather than following the process laid down by the Secretary to the Federal Government for you to have duly taken this action.” He said.
However, what sparked off the anger of the Minister was the last question posed on the role of Ngige in the concluded 2019 general elections.
“Hon. Minister with due apologies, I have to make this statement finally, that you are a former Governor by the grace of God, you were also a former senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
“I also want to ask that you served the first tenure as a Minister, now it’s for a second tenure, Hon. Minister, will you say your appointment by Mr. President was based on you being a member of the party or because of your personality or because of your performance for the President at the election because I looked at the result and discovered that in your Local Government, you scored 2,202 for the President while the PDP scored 17, 000, thank you that is my question.” He said.
Peeved by the above questions, TheNigeriaLawyer recalls that Ngige was infuriated and said:
“If you yab me, I yab you 10 times. I’m a Lagos boy, you’re just a small boy. look at this boy, Mushin boy is talking to VI boy? I lived in Victoria island, look at Mushin Boy.” He said.
