The accused, a fashion designer who lives at 5, Aganga Williams Street, Off Haruna Bus Stop, Ogba, a suburb of Lagos, is standing trial for causing grievous harm, the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports. The prosecutor, Inspector Clifford Ogu, told the court that the offence was committed on June 20 at the accused’s residence. Ogu said the victim, Mrs. Gladys Oboh, was separating a fight between the accused and her daughter. “The accused bit off Mrs. Oboh’s ear and ran away,” he said. The offence contravenes Section 244 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011. The accused pleaded not guilty to the charge. The Chief Magistrate, Mrs. Taiwo Akanni, granted the accused bail of N100,000 with one surety in like sum. She adjourned the case to September 5 for mention.]]>
