He strongly advocates for the adoption of an aggregate grading system, where all scores are combined and calculated to determine the final grade.
Onuoha argues that the current system, which focuses on a student’s lowest score, fails to provide a holistic evaluation of their overall proficiency. “The current grading system seems counterproductive and potentially harmful to many individuals,” Onuoha stated. “It doesn’t encourage a positive learning environment and instead emphasizes weaknesses rather than fostering improvement.”
According to Onuoha, an aggregate grading system would offer a fairer representation of students’ abilities and promote a more balanced approach to learning.
