The Ekiti State Police Command has disclaimed any involvement in a viral video showing armed men allegedly breaking into an apartment in Ado-Ekiti, clarifying that the operatives seen in the footage are not personnel of the Nigeria Police Force.

In a statement released on Saturday via X (formerly Twitter), the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abutu Sunday, said the Command is aware of the video circulating on social media, which has been linked to a purported security team known as “Operation Flush.”

“The Ekiti State Police Command wishes to inform the general public that the Police is not part of the Operation Flush Unit as being alleged by a section of the public. The Police does not operate any unit called Operation Flush,” the statement clarified.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Joseph Eribo, has ordered a discreet and thorough investigation into the incident to uncover the truth and ensure accountability. The Command also urged members of the public, especially the victim(s) of the alleged raid, to come forward with relevant information to assist the probe.

SP Sunday noted that the Police Command strongly condemns any act of unlawful entry, intimidation, or abuse, reiterating the Force’s commitment to upholding the rule of law and protecting the rights and property of citizens.

“The Command will continue to support the rule of law, respect the rights of citizens, and ensure maximum security for the lives and property of the good people of Ekiti State,” the statement concluded.
