A lady has in a viral video called on FIDA, the National Judicial Council, and the Judicial Service Commission to come to their aid and see to it that justice is served for the injustice poured on her brother.

In the video sighted by TheNigerialawyer (TNL), shared by Etteakamba A journalist based in Calabar, Cross River State, the lady who claims to be his sister, and also, the mother of the victim, narrated how a judge of the judiciary in Calabar, Cross River State, Justice Agnes Onyebueke, assaulted her brother, and even attempted to kill him. She narrated how the judge had asked her children to batter the young man in an inhuman manner unbecoming of a jurist of her status.

“On Tuesday, some serious injustice and maltreatment was brought upon my family by a judge, Justice Agnes Onyebueke. She is a judge with the Judiciary Office in Calabar, Cross Rivers State.

“Her husband is a lawyer, his name is Ifeanyi Fedelis Obi Onyebueke. He is a solicitor in Calabar. My brother is a civil servant in the civil service. For the past five months, he has been working with this woman. He has been a driver for the past six years or so.”

According to her, for the period he has been working with the judge, it has been nothing short of abuse, outright oppression, and molestation; that she made the life of her brother a living hell.

“Two days ago, my brother showed up to work, and this woman staged her hoodlum sons to beat up my brother with an iron rot. They beat him up so bad. They almost killed him. They locked the gate.

“He didn’t show up to steal in her house, he was not an intruder, he showed up to carry out his obligation, and he was met with beating, and assault. She endorsed on her son beating up my brother on the claim that my brother insulted her or that he will kill her,” she narrated.

According to her, she is not defending her brother, but she knows her brothers. She went further to say that her brothers are twin, and that naturally, they cannot talk to save their lives; that the particular one in question is timid, and doesn’t know how to defend himself, so, for the judge to make such a claim to lead to her thinking that it is okay to assault a government worker that was assign to her, then she doesn’t know what Nigeria is turning into.

She added that while the beating was going on, the judge was on her balcony endorsing the assault. She claimed that her brother has been slapped on several occasions; that the judge beat him in the car simply because he did not respond while she is talking.

She also stated that he couldn’t talk back at her because he was afraid, adding that, her brothers have reported to the Chief-Registrar. She also stressed that as a result of the assault, he has refused to show up to work, and that the judge do send him to the market and also have him carry her bag, thereby using him as a houseboy; that he closes work 8, 9 which is an unusual time for civil servants to close. She also added that the judge requested that her brother moves in to live with her, and that she made that request so that she can use him, and that it was his failure that led to more maltreatment. She claimed that the judge have changed many drivers within a short time because of her attitude. She further claimed that her brother’s arm and wrist were broken because of the beating.

She further narrated that when the matter was reported to the Chief-Registrar, he gave her brother two thousand naira promising to transfer him out.

She asked why a judge who ought to uphold the rule of law is the one violating her brother’s right, and perpetrating injustice. She said that the judge has no human decency, and that she doesn’t fit to be a judge. She added that if anything happens to her brother, the family of Onyebueke should be held responsible.

She therefore called prayed that the message get the necessary authorities so that they will look into the matter. “Even if it will not be as impactful as it ought to be, she hopes that to some extent it will reach the ear that ought to reach,” she said.
