[UPDATED] Supreme Court Announces The Demise Of Justice S.N Ngwuta

— Says Late Justice Ngwuta Tested Negative For Covid-19.
— Body Deposited At National Hospital Mortuary Pending Burial Arrangements

The death of the late Justice of the Supreme Court, Hon. Justice Sylvester Ngwuta, JSC, CFR has been announced by the Supreme Court. 

This was disclosed in a statement made by the Chief Registrar of the Court, Hadizatu Uwani Mustapha, Esq, on the 7th day of March, 2021, and made available to TheNigeriaLawyer.

The announcement noted that the Late Ngwuta had been ill for a while, following which he was placed on admission at the National Hospital, Abuja, and had tested negative for the 2019 Coronavirus after being critically ill.

The remains of the Late Justice has been deposited at the National Mortuary pending when the burial arrangements would be announced by the family.

Hon. Justice Ngwuta who was appointed Supreme Court Justice on March 22, 2011 was born on March 30, 1951 in Amofia-Ukawu, Onicha Local government of Ebonyi State. His lordship had his basic education in the Eastern part of Nigeria and got his LLB in University of Ife (Now Obafemi Awolowo University). lle-ife in 1977 and BL at the Nigerian law school in 1978.
