The much awaited NBA 2022 Elections finally commenced today by 12am after months of preparations by the Electoral Committee of the Nigerian Bar Association and campaigns by Candidates for various offices.

Since the commencement of voting at midnight, TheNigeriaLawyer has keenly monitored the process and live results.

As at 2:56pm, 27,056 votes has been tallied for the Presidential category with Maikyau widening his lead having pulled 17523 votes so far, with Joe-Kyari Gadzama SAN and Jonathan Taidi coming behind with 8518 and 1015 votes respectively.

In a related development, a source has informed TheNigeriaLawyer that officials of the ECNBA have explained the reasons for some hitches witnessed in the transmission of the Electoral results.

The officials attributed the slowdown on the portal to the volume of traffic in the voting platform in an apparent response to contentions by Observers at the Situation room.

According to the source, the an ECNBA Official said “…It is because of the network. A lot of people are trying to vote. We are doing our best to get it back”.

As at the time of this report, we are unable to ascertain if the grievances of some aggrieved agents have been resolved.
