*Tinubu Endorses Sanwo-Olu, Hamzat For Second Term

All Progressives Congress (APC) national leader and 2023 presidential hopeful, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has paid for the N50m Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s re-election bid.

Sanwo-Olu’s chief press secretary, Gboyega Akosile, who took to his verified Twitter handle on Friday, disclosed this while attributing same to his principal.

Akosile wrote: “Breaking: Asiwaju Tinubu paid for my second term nomination and expression of interest forms to run for second term, Says Sanwo-Olu.”

Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has endorsed Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and his deputy Femi Hamzat for a second term.

Tinubu raised both men’s hands after a Lagos APC stakeholders meeting Held at the Adeyemi Bero Hall in the Alausa area of the State.

There had been speculations that Mr Sanwo-Olu wasn’t guaranteed a second term ticket of the party.

But Mr Tinubu’s endorsement may have put paid to such rumours.

Mr Tinubu, who is also vying to fly the APC’s flags in the upcoming presidential elections is a former Lagos State Governor and popularly believed to be the state’s ultimate political godfather.

In another post on Facebook, Sanwo-Olu expressed delight at the endorsements he had got.

He said, “I accepted the honour of being endorsed for 2nd term by an amalgamation of Igbo Traders in 58 markets in Lagos under the umbrella of Ndigboamaka Progressive Markets Association.

“For decades, Igbo traders have remained prominent players in the economic growth of our state.

“This endorsement is yet again another opportunity to recognise our Ndigbo brothers and sisters for their commitment to the growth and development of Lagos.

“Certainly, Ndigbo traders have been part of the good story of Lagos; your entrepreneurial spirit is second to none and the Igbo enterprising spirit has become a case study in Harvard.

“I’m happy that our modest interventions for more growth are visible and being recognised.

“I accept this endorsement with much gratitude to all members of the association and entire Ndigbo in Lagos.”
