* While NBA awaits to meet the other waring faction on Monday The attempt by NBA to broker peace in NBA Abuja was met with stiff opposition by both warring parties. While almost all the elders of the branch were on one side, the younger lawyers were on the other side backing the Ezenwa led administration. The NBA has agreed to meet with the waring principal actors on Monday at the NBA House to hear from them before a final decision will be taken on the issue. Source informed Thenigerialawyer that NBA is being advised by the elders to implement the recommendation of the Elders’ committee set up by the president and their recommendation is for the President to recognize the other faction other than Ezenwa led executive. The young lawyers in the branch led by Afam Osigwe the immediate past Secretary General are advising to the contrary. A reliable source exclusively informed Thenigerialawyer that their advice is premised on the fact that recognition of the others faction will not solve the problem but exacerbate the crisis and put the entire structure of NBA into question. Thenigerialawyer recalls that Ezenwa led executive was recognized by NEC led by Mr Alegeh SAN and their decision was ratified at the last Annual General Meeting the highest ruling body of NBA. How legal would it be to set aside the decision of AGM without another AGM doing that? Meanwhile Ikeja crisis which is similar is undergoing similar process. Thenigerialawyer recalls that at the last monthly meeting, Mr. Monday Ubani who was the former chairman and the current 2nd Vice President stepped in to avoid inevitable bloody clash at the meeting and invited the two waring leaders to a meeting to his office. It is hoped that Mr Ubani will be able to resolve the problem before the next monthly meeting as supporters of each faction are threatening Show down concerning who controls the secretariat, account and the buses of the branch. Meanwhile the Exco of NBA has just rounded up a two day Strategic Plan Retreat yesterday. The retreat which had several Resource Persons had all the executive members and Heads of various Department in the Secretariat in attendance.
