The All Progressives Congress (APC) has released the list of designated banks for the purchase of expression of interest and nomination forms, in a move aimed at easing mounting tension among its members.

The announcement, made three days after the official commencement of sales, follows delays that left many aspirants stranded and raised concerns about the party’s administrative preparedness for the 2027 general elections.

In a statement issued in Abuja on Monday night, the National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, confirmed that payments for the forms are to be made through three financial institutions: Union Bank, United Bank for Africa (UBA), and Zenith Bank.

He added that completed forms would be available for collection at the party’s National Secretariat upon presentation of proof of payment.

The clarification comes after days of frustration at the party headquarters, where aspirants including a presidential hopeful reportedly struggled to obtain payment details since the sales commenced on Saturday.

One of the aspirants, Osifo Stanley, expressed concern over the delay, describing it as a source of anxiety for contenders working within tight electoral timelines.

“I made calls between Saturday and yesterday to officials of the party. The account number required to pay for the form is yet to be made available to me as we speak,” he said shortly before the announcement. “We have made repeated efforts, but the process remained stalled.”

Despite the initial setback, the National Organising Secretary, Sulaiman Muhammad Argungu, insisted the party remains committed to its revised timetable, aimed at concluding primaries within statutory deadlines.

Under the schedule, the sale of nomination and expression of interest forms runs from April 25 to May 2, 2026, while submission closes on May 4. Screening of aspirants is slated for May 6 to May 9, with results to be published on May 11. Appeals will hold from May 12 to May 13.

The party’s primaries are expected to begin on May 15 with the House of Representatives, followed by the Senate on May 18, State Houses of Assembly on May 20, governorship on May 21, and the presidential primary on May 23. Post-primary appeals are scheduled to run between May 18 and May 25, depending on the election category.

Party officials also face ongoing pressure to clarify payment processes for mandatory membership dues, which remain a requirement for aspirants seeking eligibility.

With the banks now announced, party insiders expect a surge of activity at the National Secretariat as aspirants move to meet the May 4 submission deadline.
