A partner at the elite Manhattan law firm Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz, Nathaniel D. Cullerton, has reportedly been placed on leave after a viral video showed him kissing a younger colleague, Kelsey A. Borenzweig, on a bench in Central Park.

Cullerton, 45, is a partner in the firm’s litigation department, while Borenzweig, 29, is listed as an associate in the same department.
According to reports, the video was posted on TikTok by content creator Jay Guapõ, who filmed the pair and interrupted them during the encounter by telling them to “get a room” because there were children around.
The video, which quickly spread across social media, showed the two lawyers looking embarrassed and attempting to shield themselves from the camera after being approached by the TikToker.
Cullerton was seen standing up and trying to move the content creator away, while Borenzweig reportedly told him to put the phone down.
The incident has since generated widespread attention online, with many social media users comparing it to recent viral workplace relationship scandals, while others criticised the TikToker for filming private individuals in a public place and exposing them online.
People familiar with the matter reportedly told the Financial Times that Cullerton was placed on leave amid an investigation connected to the viral video.
He was also reportedly expected to move from Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz to rival firm Gibson Dunn, alongside several other prominent attorneys, but that planned move was said to have been halted after the video gained public attention.
It remains unclear whether Borenzweig has also been placed on leave or is under any internal investigation.
As of Tuesday, the attorney profiles of both Cullerton and Borenzweig were reportedly still visible on Wachtell’s website.
Both lawyers had also worked on the legal team defending OpenAI and Sam Altman in litigation brought by Elon Musk.
Reports said Cullerton is married to Moira Penza, also a lawyer and partner at another New York firm. The couple reportedly married in 2016 and share a luxury Upper East Side apartment valued at about $2.3 million.
Borenzweig was also reportedly recently in a relationship with a judicial law clerk, though reports said the relationship had ended.
The incident has triggered discussions about workplace boundaries, power dynamics and professional ethics, especially because Cullerton is a senior partner while Borenzweig is a junior associate in the same department.
Critics have raised concerns about whether a relationship between a partner and a subordinate could create workplace complications or conflicts within a law firm setting.
Others, however, have focused on the privacy implications of the video, arguing that filming and publicly posting private moments involving strangers, even in a public park, raises serious ethical concerns.
Cullerton obtained his Juris Doctor from Georgetown University in 2013 and previously clerked at the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit before joining Wachtell.
Borenzweig received her Juris Doctor from New York University School of Law in 2022 and has worked at Wachtell on and off since May 2021, according to her publicly available professional profile.
Wachtell, Gibson Dunn and Cullerton were reportedly contacted for comment, but no immediate response was received.
