1. Section 39 of 1999 Constitution: “Every person SHALL BE ENTITLED to freedom of expression, including FREEDOM to hold opinions and to receive and impart ideas.” 2. Section 40 of 1999 Constitution: “Every person SHALL BE ENTITLED to ASSEMBLE FREELY and to ASSOCIATE with other persons, and in particular, he may form or belong to any political party, trade union or ANY OTHER ASSOCIATION, for the protection of his interests.” 3. Section 41 of 1999 Constitution: “Every citizen of Nigeria is ENTITLED TO MOVE FREELY throughout Nigeria, and to reside in any part thereof, and no citizen of Nigeria shall be expelled from Nigeria, or refused entry thereto or exit therefrom.” On May 29, 2015, General Muhammadu Buhari, Retd, swore on the Holy Quoran as follows: OATH OF ALLEGIANCE “I, Maj-Gen Muhammadu Buhari, Retd, do solemnly swear that I will be faithful and bear true allegiance to the Federal Republic of Nigeria and that I will PRESERVE, PROTECT and DEFEND the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. So help me God.” I join all other Nigerians to appeal to the President, or in his absence the Vice/Acting President, to abide by the above oath if allegiance, in the fear of God and allow Nigerians to exercise their constitutional rights without let or hindrance, especially the right to freedom of expression, freedom to associate freely and freedom to move freely. God bless the President, Vice/Acting President.]]>
