The Transcorp Hilton Abuja has denied reports claiming it cancelled a booking for a political rally, describing the allegation as “entirely false and misleading.”

The hotel dismissed the claims in a statement issued on Thursday and signed by its Acting General Manager, Mohamed Khalil, stating that the viral reports circulating on social media were inaccurate and not reflective of the facts.

The controversy stemmed from allegations that the hotel cancelled a venue booking for the African Democratic Congress (ADC) National Convention reportedly scheduled for April 14. The claim gained traction on social media, with some users alleging political interference in the alleged cancellation.

One X user had specifically claimed that the hotel withdrew a booking for the ADC convention, linking the matter to ownership of the hotel.

However, Transcorp Hilton Abuja firmly rejected the narrative, insisting that no booking was ever confirmed.

According to the hotel, an inquiry was made on Easter Monday regarding availability, but no space was available to accommodate the request, and therefore no reservation was made.

“We wish to categorically state that this claim is entirely false and does not reflect the facts,” the hotel said.

It added that there was no cancellation at any point, stressing that the story being circulated was “malicious and fabricated,” and urged the public to disregard it.

The hotel reaffirmed its commitment to professionalism and transparency in all its dealings.
