The Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has disclosed that the young lady, Mercy Isoyip also known as Descushiel has been pardoned after she missed the lyrics of the National Anthem at the Conference and Retreat for Senior Police Officers in Imo State on Monday, October 30.

He said this at an event shared on the YouTube channel of the Force on Sunday, November 5.

Egbetokun said: “The young lady was brought on stage to sing the National Anthem and I think at the end, stage fright caught up with her and that because and she went ahead to do a public apology.

I felt so sorry of the error on her part, Well, I think to err is human and the lady made a mistake and you can see that…”

“I believe that some of you would have felt somehow and I believe that she has been forgiven.”
