Legal practitioner and former National Officer of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Okey Leo Ohagba, has extended warm felicitations to the Nigerian Bar Association, Sokoto Branch, on the occasion of its 2026 Law Week.

In a goodwill message, Ohagba congratulated the branch leadership led by Rashidat Mohammed, the Law Week Planning Committee, and the entire membership for organising the annual event, which he described as significant to the legal profession.

He noted that this year’s theme, “Secured Nation, Secured Future,” is both timely and relevant, as it highlights the critical connection between national security and the rule of law as essential pillars for sustainable development and stability.

Ohagba commended the leadership of the branch for its dedication to advancing the ideals of the legal profession and for contributing meaningfully to national discourse through the Law Week platform.

He expressed optimism that the event would provide an avenue for robust engagement and knowledge exchange among participants, urging members to seize the opportunity to address pressing issues affecting the nation and the legal community.

“I wish all participants an insightful and impactful Law Week. May our deliberations yield positive outcomes for our country and the legal profession,” he said.

He also encouraged continued innovation within the Bar, emphasizing the need for forward-thinking initiatives that will shape the future of the legal profession.

The 2026 Law Week of the NBA Sokoto Branch is expected to bring together legal practitioners, stakeholders, and thought leaders to deliberate on issues surrounding security, governance, and the rule of law in Nigeria.
