TheNigeriaLawyer (TNL) Celebrates A Quintessential Bar Leader, Dr Foluke Dada As She Clocks A Year Older

We at TheNigeriaLawyer (TNL) are celebrating the 2nd Vice President of the Nigeria Bar Association (NBA), the Iyalode of Ere Ijesha and the Yeye Mofin of Itaji-Ekiti. Dr. Foluke Dada, as she clocks a year older today. Happy birthday, ma.

As we celebrate you today, may our God bless your new age and grant you many more joyful years ahead.

Dr. Foluke Dada is a consummate leader of the Bar, is a graduate of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State and was called to the bar in 1990. She has:
1. Certificate in Management Studies from Lewisham College, London, UK 1977;
2. LL.M Degree (Child & Family Law) from the Loyola University of Chicago School of Law, an Ivy League University in the USA in May 2007;
3. Doctoral Degree in Health Law & Policy with a focus on Family Health, Loyola University School of Law in Chicago, Illinois, USA in May 2010.

She has also been a consummate and active Bar woman. She has had the privilege of being elected or appointed to a number of positions within the Nigeria Bar Association. They include but not limited to the following:
1. Vice Chairman of the very active NBA, Ado-Ekiti Branch, 2012-2014
2. Chairman, Local Organizing Committee, National Executive Committee Meeting of the NBA hosted by the Ado-Ekiti Branch 2014
3. Chairman, NBA, Ado-Ekiti Branch, 2014-2016 where she left several legacies which include but not limited to:
i. Acquisition of a muli- million Naira parcel of land for the construction of a prestigious edifice for the Bar.
ii. Refurbishing of the present Bar Center of the NBA within the High Court premises.
iii. The establishment, mentorship / sponsorship of the Young Lawyers Forum of the Ekiti Bar (Ado, Ikere and Ikole Branches)
iv. Acquision of a brand New Bus for the Ado-Ekiti Branch.
v. Re-Branding of the corporate outlook of the Ado Bar within the State by engaging the State government and other key stakeholders such as JUSUN, NAWOJ, the legislative arm of the government amongst others.
4. Pioneer Chairman of the 1st Law Week Celebrations of the NBA, Ado-Ekiti Branch year 2012
5. One of the Resource Persons at the NBA Section on Legal Practice Conference, held in Abuja in 2014
6. NEC Representative, Ado-Ekiti Branch.
7. She had also served on some State Committees including the Administration of Criminal Justice Committee in Ekiti State, 2014 and the Commission of Enquiry into Extra Judicial Killings in Ekiti State. 2015
