An insight into the unchecked illegal ‘Manufacturing’ of Court Orders Deployed to persecute innocent citizens in Abia State.

The last has not been heard of the bastardization of the temple of justice by characters who have no business in the Judiciary. The Judiciary which was seen as the last hope of the common man in justice has almost become the undoing of the common man in injustice.

One of the unchecked illegalities going on in Abia State judiciary, especially at the lower courts is the illegal practice of ‘manufacturing’ court orders with brazen impunity carried out by bad elements in the judiciary.

In the course of rendering services as a Legal practitioner, I have discovered by engaging due diligence in pursuit of justice for some persecuted citizens that many court orders executed against innocent citizens in Abia State are being ‘manufactured’, forged, and procured from the judiciary with no qualms.

For the purpose of this article, I will reference two of such ‘manufactured’ court orders with phantom Suit Numbers: MAS/189/2022 and MAN/MISC. 53/2019 (both made ex-parte) purporting to emanate from the Chief Magistrates’ Court, Aba South and Aba North respectively. For the avoidance of any doubt, these purported court orders were procured with the sole aim of dealing with innocent citizens.

A prompt search at the Registry of those courts revealed that no record exit of any suit filed which gave rise to any of these bogus orders, no process was filed in respect of the said court orders, no proceeding was conducted with respect, and no record of proceedings whatsoever in respect of the phantom court orders. Unfortunately, these court orders were ‘manufactured’, forged, and procured from the judiciary by those who may have been made to believe that the orders of the Honourable Court are articles of trade that could be purchased by any buyer.

Sadly, these orders have been given effect and innocent citizens are paying dearly for it, with the Abia State judiciary as the source of the persecution in the circumstance.

Although legal steps have been taken to nullify the effect of these phantom court orders, the innocent citizen, the victim against whom the court order with the phantom Suit No: MAS/189/2022 was enforced went further to petition the Police and brought the matter to the attention of the Chief Judge of Abia State and the Attorney-General of Abia State. Regrettably, nothing has been done by the aforementioned authorities in respect of the matter till this moment.

It is my belief that unless the authorities rise to check the menace in the Abia State Judiciary, the practice of ‘manufacturing’ court orders will do more harm to the judiciary and society.
