Candidate for General Secretary of the Bar and the former Chairman Nigerian Bar Association, Prince Collins Benson Ogiegbaen, AICMC, had congratulated the Chairman, Executive Council Members, distinguished Senior Advocates of Nigeria and colleagues and members of the Law Week Planning Committee of the Benin Branch(Lion Bar) on the auspicious occasion of the 2022 Annual Law Week.

The Lion Bar is celebrating it’s August and Super Urban 2022 Bar Week with the theme; Security: Panacea For National Growth”.

Prince commended the theme of the Law week and noted that it is apt.

“It is apposite and contemporary as it touches fundamentally on how the Society of man came to be of man in the pre social state and man in society with all the guarantees of protection provided by the supervening body which became the state.

“I note with great sadness, the present state of our security in modern society which has brought the Nigerian state to the point of anarchy, lawlessness and arbitrary rule.

“The theme of the week presents ample opportunity and a veritable platform to call on state actors and the security agencies that the time to act is now or Society would easily degenerate back to the Hobsien State of Nature where it was a WAR OF ALL AGAINST ALL , A CONDITION OF INTERNECINE STRIFE IN WHICH THE LIFE OF MAN WAS SOLITARY, SHORT, NASTY AND BRUTISH.

“I wish our dear members of the BENIN(LION) BAR, the various eminent speakers and all participants , profound, accomplishments in our treasurable legal profession.”
