The Anah Law Practice To Hold Memorial Colloquium In Honour Of Late C.O Anah, SAN

The Anah Law Practice will be holding a Memorial Colloquium in honor of C. O. Anah, SAN.

The event will take place at the Auditorium, Nigerian Bar Association House, Central Business District, on the 30th September, by 9:00 am.

Justice D.Z Senchi, of Court of Appeal, Abuja Division, will be speaking on the theme “Trial Within Trial: An Incongruity With Speedy Administration Of Criminal Justice”.

Other speakers include; the Principal Partner, Yemi Akinseye- George & Partners, and the President, Center for Socio-Legal Studies, Abuja, Prof. Yemi Akinseye- George, SAN.

Chineyere Moneme, Esq, Principal Partner, Crystal Legal Services, Founder ACE Justice Assist Foundation  and the Gender Justice Advocate and An Active Player in the Nigerian Criminal Justice Sector.

Simon Lough, Esq, Assistant Commissioner of Police FHQ and Chief Prosecutor of the Nigerian Police Force.

Principal Partner, Yakubu Philemon & Co., Yakubu Philemon, Esq, will serve as the Moderator.

The Convener, Adaeze Anah, when speaking with TheNigerialawyer on the forthcoming event,  said “We are excited to tell you about the C. O. Anah Memorial Colloquium; a yearly event aimed at creating a platform for salient conversations bordering on Legal Practice, Criminal Justice Administration, the Laws of Evidence and Human Rights.

“This event is in Memory of C. O. Anah, SAN (1935 – 2019), an accomplished lawyer and author whose years of practice and leadership in the Nigerian Bar contributed immensely to Nigerian Jurisprudence.

“It is designed to be a welcoming platform for lawyers to have conversations about the practice of law and its progressive evolution.

Lord Denning posed the question “What next in the Law?” As long as there is time and space, history and the future, we do not think this is a conversation that will ever end.

“The Law is a living philosophy, constantly metamorphosing to compliment changes in societal and human demands.

“We believe that by being deliberate about the evolution of the Law we can curate an environment that is favorable for respect for human rights and for growth and sustainable development.
