Human & Social Rights NGO has appealed to the Registrar General of Cooperate Affairs Commission (CAC) to urgently upgrade the services of the Commission to customers for effective service delivery.

This is contained in a letter dated 24th day of July, 2020 signed by Hameed Ajibola Jimoh, Esq which was made available to TheNigeriaLawyer.

The letter noted that in recent times, the services of the Commission have been enmeshed in untold hardships, affecting the customers. Hence, the need for urgent upgrade.

The letter reads:

24th July, 2020.

SI/LM/02/2020.

The Registrar-General,
Cooperate Affairs Commission,
Headquarters,
Maitama,
Abuja.

Dear Sir,

HUMBLE APPEALS FOR URGENT UPGRADE OF COOPERATE SERVICES OF THE COMMISSION

  1. We are human and socio-economic rights, Non-Profits, Non-Political and Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) registered in the above headed name under the Part C of the Companies and Allied Matters Act, 2004, as Incorporated Trustees and bearing the appellation ‘SUSOR Initiative’.
  1. For quite a while and of recent time, there have been several complaints about some if not many of the services being rendered by the Commission to the general public/customers, the situation which we believe calls for urgent attention of the Commission and these are the reasons for our appeals (by this letter to the Commission) for urgent upgrade of the cooperate services of the Commission. It is noteworthy that these complaints range from: inability to access the online portal of the Commission; late or unnecessary delay in processing all necessary processes/services by the Commission; having to be available as early as 6:30am to pick a serial number and to take a queue; over-delay in the release of the certificates of incorporation by the Commission to customers; poor verification process by the Commission; bad and embarrassing treatments of lawyers by some members/staff of the Commission, unreachable nature of those contacts available on the website of the Commission or where reachable, the feedbacks from those contacts are poor, among other complaints. We understand that in all these complaints, there might have been some hurdles in the operation system of the Commission especially having regard to the negative impacts of the pandemic Covid-19 and other circumstances that are likely to hamper the improved system of the Commission (the improved status which the Commission has won over the years). Nevertheless, on behalf of the general public and customers of the Commission, we humbly appeal for a continuous improved and or upgrade of the system and services of the Commission in departure from its current status being complained about by members of the public/customers in such a way that would be more customer-friendly.
  1. We however commend the forbearing efforts of the Commission with the current circumstances (especially having regards to the impacts of the pandemic Covid-19) and we equally lend our supports for an improved system of the Commission as we trust that the Commission is up to the task in ameliorating the above few-highlighted complaints (inclusive of others not mentioned) in no time.
  2. While we anticipate a quick but urgent up-grade of the system and deeply believe that our appeals in this letter are granted by the Commission, please accept the warm regards of all us at SUSOR Initiative.

Yours faithfully,

 Hameed Ajibola Jimoh Esq.
Director General/Chief Executive Officer.
