Ambassador Chief C. D. Orike paid a courtesy visit to the Learned Silk, Joe-Kyari Gadzama, SAN at his Abuja office on Tuesday, November 23, 2021, to felicitate with him as he clocks 60.
Ambassador Orike who was called to the Bar of England and Wales in 1961 is a pioneer member of the Body of Benchers. He was appointed in 1965 alongside 15 others and is the currently only surviving pioneer member of the Body.
Ambassador Chief Orike was a member of the first parliament of 1964 alongside late Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa, the 1st Prime Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and late Mr Solomon Lar, former Governor of Plateau State. He was Nigeria’s Ambassador to Uganda with concurrent accreditation to the Republics of Rwanda and Burundi.
The Learned Silk thanked him for the courtesy visit, restated his respect to the senior life bencher and commended him for the long service he has rendered and is still rendering to the legal profession. He prayed that God will continue to sustain him with good health and strength.
