The Anambra State House of Assembly has received the first batch of commissioner nominees forwarded by Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo for screening and confirmation.

The list was received during plenary by the Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Nkem Udeze, who subsequently referred the nominees to the Committee on Screening and Election Matters.

Among the nominees are two Senior Advocates of Nigeria, Barr. Tobechukwu Nweke, SAN, who was nominated for Justice and Attorney-General, and Prof. Offornze Amucheazi, SAN, who was nominated for Lands.

Other nominees on the list include Dr. Ben Chuks Odoemena for Agriculture, Mr. Chukwukadibia Okoye, FCCA, for Budget and Economic Planning, Mr. Udoji Amedu for Culture, Entertainment and Tourism, and Dr. Ekene Ogugua for Education.

Dr. Clem Aguiyi was nominated for Environment, Mr. Izuchukwu M. Okafor for Finance, Dr. Afam Obidike for Health, and Dr. Law Mefor for Information and Value Reformation.

Also on the list are Barr. Vin Ezeaka for Local Government and Community Affairs, Prof. Charles Ofoegbu for Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Barr. Chijioke Oseloka Ojukwu for Physical Planning and Urban Development, and Engr. Casmir Chinenye Agummadu for Power.

Others are Arc. Okey Ezeobi for Works and Infrastructure, Hon. Eddy Ibuzo for Transport, Mrs. Esther Chinyere Onyekesi for Women Affairs and Social Development, and Mr. Patrick Agha, MBA, for Youth Development and Sports.

The nominees are expected to appear before the Assembly’s Committee on Screening and Election Matters for consideration before confirmation by the House.
