Soldiers killed my daughter, father of slain INEC official mourns

Daperi said he had never attacked anyone in his life and wondered why his innocent daughter would be gunned down by soldiers The 61-year-old man, who posted a photo of his daughter, wrote, “Here lies my beautiful daughter Ibisaki, a post-graduate degree holder, full of cheer, love and kindness and mother of two. She was shot dead yesterday by a trigger happy and jittery soldier while she was on a national assignment with INEC. “I have never arranged for the death of any youth. I hate violence and thuggery. If law enforcement agents have to kill an enemy, should it be my responsible and peaceful daughter? It is well. Only God knows why it happened. He will surely repay the wicked.” It was learnt that the deceased was the first child of her father and they shared a close relationship. On her last birthday, which was July 27, 2018, he wrote a tribute to Ibisaki “My first fruit; the one that led all the other angels out. I congratulate you, and I thank Heavenly Father for bringing you to earth through me. Have a very Happy Birthday. May your days be long and happy, in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.” The deceased also praised her father for his undying love for her. She wrote, “Oh I am short of words daddy there is quantify the joy in me for God to have sent to this world through you the best Daddy in the world and also the best angels as siblings. Daddy thank you! I love you to the moon and back. (I am) in the exam hall now.” The deceased, it was learnt, had two children. The INEC Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, who confirmed Ibisaki’s death, condemned her murder. Yakubu said, “We have recorded the first fatality, an ad hoc official was hit by bullet. “We condemn this attack and will forward a comprehensive report for security agencies to investigate.” When our correspondent contacted the Director, Army Public Relations, Col.
