In the early hours of Monday, at the Ojota area of Lagos State, a group of infuriated soldiers assaulted a Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) officer, subjecting him to a severe beating following an undisclosed traffic violation.

According to an eyewitness, the incident occurred at around 8 a.m. when a squad of eight soldiers apprehended the LASTMA officer, subjecting him to several minutes of physical assault.

A viral video captured the soldiers in the act, mercilessly beating the LASTMA officer while he pleaded desperately for mercy. One of the assailants was observed relentlessly striking the officer to the ground, causing other LASTMA officers to flee the scene.

Reports indicate that this attack was retaliatory in nature, stemming from a previous incident where LASTMA officers were alleged to have assaulted a soldier in the same Ojota area last week.
