A viral video allegedly showing Nigerian police officers receiving ₦5,000 each from a Chinese man has sparked public outrage and renewed concerns about corruption within the Nigeria Police Force.
The footage, widely circulated online, shows uniformed officers lining up to collect cash from the man and his family.
The video has drawn widespread condemnation, with human rights advocates and citizens calling it a disgrace to the police’s reputation. Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, told newsmen that he was unaware of the video or the incident.
Similarly, the Lagos State Police Command spokesperson, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, clarified that the incident did not occur in Lagos, refuting online claims.
