Bencher and former Chairman of the NBA Lagos Branch, Lateef Omoyemi Akangbe, SAN, FCIArb (UK), has restated his commitment to a purpose-driven Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), placing the welfare and growth of members at the heart of its mission.

Akangbe made this known during his visit to the NBA Nyanya-Karu Branch, where he addressed members at their General Meeting. He was warmly received by the Branch Chairman, members of the Executive Committee, and other attendees.

In his remarks, Akangbe noted that the NBA must remain “a body rooted in service, welfare, and purpose,” adding that the Association should be a supportive institution, not a burden to its members.

“I remain firm on my principles — principles which place members’ welfare and growth at the centre of all we do. The NBA should be a home of support, not a burden,” he stated.

Commending the leadership of the Nyanya-Karu Branch, Akangbe praised the branch’s sense of purpose and vision, saying it would be his “pride and joy” to see the branch thrive.

The visit forms part of Akangbe’s continued engagement with NBA branches across the country under his guiding mantra: #ElevateTheBar — with a focus on capacity building, professional excellence, and institutional reform.

Members of the Nyanya-Karu Branch expressed appreciation for the visit and lauded Akangbe’s enduring dedication to legal development and professional upliftment within the NBA.
